The following pages show several photos of Lt. Col.
Vogt during and after the War.
After theWar, then-Lieutenant Vogt was required to
stay in Europe. As a Battlefield Commissioned Officer, he was
short 5 "points" for rotating back home. He had set
the record for the fastest mile in the State of Wisconsin (a
record held for over 30 years) and so was asked to be a part
of General George S. Patton's Third Army Track Team
